Panduan Penulisan
The following are the guidelines for writing a paper for the Journal of Applied Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Technology (JACEIT) published by the consortium Indonesia Society of Applied Science (ISAS). Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts, and the manuscript must not have been previously published [1]. The reference list should be arranged sequentially starting from 1, 2, 3, and so on.
Title
The title must be written in Times New Roman 15pt (Maximum 12 words: Indonesian language, not bold).
Author1, Author2
1Department, Faculty, Institution
2Department, Faculty, Institution
1email1@isas.or.id, 2email2@isas.or.id* (*corresponding author mark)
The title must be clear, concise, brief, and informative, representing the content of the article, with a maximum of 12 words, font size 15pt, not bold, and only the first letter of each word capitalized.
Author names must be written clearly without academic titles. All authors’ email addresses must be provided. If the corresponding author is not the first author, an asterisk (*) should be added after the corresponding author’s email address.
Abstract [Times New Roman 10]
The abstract must summarize the background, research objectives, methods, findings, and main conclusions of the paper. The abstract in Indonesian should be written in justified alignment, followed by the English abstract, single-spaced, in one column format. The word “Abstract” as the heading must be written in Times 10-point, bold, left-aligned, with the first letter capitalized. The abstract text must be written in Times 9-point, single-spaced, with approximately 250 words.
After the Indonesian abstract, write 3 to 6 keywords/phrases from the manuscript. Then continue with the main manuscript text.
Keywords
Keywords must consist of 3–6 words/phrases, preferably subsets of the manuscript title, and separated by commas.
Manuscript Structure
The manuscript must be written with the following structure:
-
Introduction
-
Research Methodology (may include analysis, architecture, methods used to solve the problem, implementation)
-
Results and Discussion
-
Conclusion
-
Acknowledgment (if any)
-
References
The introduction should answer the following questions [2,3]:
(1) Background
(2) Brief literature review of related research
(3) The reason for conducting this research
(4) Research objectives/questions
The state of the art, gap analysis, and novelty must be clearly presented. Avoid discussing general literature reviews and broad definitions.
Research Methodology
Explain the preparation methods and characterization techniques used. Describe them concisely but accurately, including size, volume, replication, and procedures. New methods must be described in detail so that other researchers can reproduce the experiment. Established methods may be explained by citing references [4–6].
Manuscript Length
The manuscript must be written on A4 paper with a minimum of 6 pages (excluding references) and a maximum of 15 pages, including tables and figures. The spacing between paragraphs is 6pt and must follow the formatting guidelines provided in this document.
Results and Discussion
Present the research results in a logical sequence to form a coherent narrative. The content should present facts/data without discussing the results. Tables and figures may be used but avoid repeating the same data in figures, tables, and text. Subheadings may be used for clarity.
The discussion explains the underlying principles, relationships, and generalizations shown by the results. It must answer the research questions. If there are doubtful results, present them objectively.
Manuscript Layout
The easiest way to format the layout is to use this guideline directly. It is recommended not to use numbering (1, 2, 3, a, b, c, etc.) in the manuscript discussion; convert them into sentence form. Avoid using bullet points or symbol lists such as *, √, and others. Avoid leaving empty spaces on pages.
To ensure the manuscript can be processed promptly by the editor, make sure it is carefully written according to these guidelines.
Tables
Tables must be numbered according to their order of appearance (Table 1, etc.). The table title must be written above the table, center-aligned, not bold or colored. The font size must be 8pt for both the title and table content. Tables must be cited and referred to in the text. Vertical lines are not allowed in tables.
Figures
Figures must be numbered according to their order of appearance (Figure 1, etc.). The figure caption must be placed below the figure, center-aligned. The font size for figure captions must be 8pt. Figures must be cited and referred to in the text.
Equations
Equations must be clearly written using equation format and numbered with an index. The explanation of variables must be written in paragraph form, not as an item list.
Program Listing
Program listings and algorithm designs must be written using Lucida Console font (8pt) with fixed width.
Page Specifications
Use Times New Roman font throughout the manuscript, following the font sizes specified in this guideline. Line spacing is single, and the text must be justified. Paper size is A4 (210 mm x 297 mm). Margins are 25 mm on the top, bottom, left, and right.
The easiest way to write the manuscript is by directly using the journal template.
Conclusion
The conclusion must not contain references. It should present the factual findings and directly answer the research problems or objectives (not repeat the discussion). State possible applications, implications, and appropriate speculations. If necessary, provide suggestions for future research. Write the conclusion in paragraph form, not in numbering format.
Acknowledgment (if any)
Mention the funding sources and institutions that provided facilities or support.
References
It is recommended to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero. All references listed must be cited in the manuscript. Include at least 10 primary and recent references (within the last 5 years). Use 8pt font and IEEE citation style.
