Authorship Criteria
Authorship Criteria
The Journal of Applied Accounting (JAA) recognizes authorship as an important responsibility that reflects an individual's significant intellectual contribution to a scholarly work. All authors listed in a submitted manuscript must have made meaningful contributions to the research and must take responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the published work.
To qualify for authorship, each author should meet the following criteria:
- Substantial Contribution: The author has made a significant contribution to the conception or design of the research, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of findings, or development of the manuscript.
- Manuscript Preparation and Revision: The author has participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
- Final Approval: The author has reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.
- Accountability: The author agrees to be accountable for their contribution and to cooperate in addressing questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, or ethical conduct of the research.
Responsibilities of Authors
All authors must agree to the submission of the manuscript and the order of authorship before submission. The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial team on behalf of all co-authors and ensuring that all authors have approved the submitted version.
Individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately, with their consent. Honorary, guest, or ghost authorship is not permitted.
Any changes to the authorship list, including adding, removing, or rearranging authors, must be justified and approved by all authors concerned, subject to the journal's editorial approval.
By submitting a manuscript to JAA, authors confirm that the authorship information is accurate, that all listed authors meet the stated criteria, and that the manuscript complies with the journal's publication ethics policy.
