  • Adapt: remix, transform, and build upon the material, for any purpose, even commercially.

These freedoms apply under the following terms:

  • Attribution: appropriate credit must be given to the authors and to the original publication in JACE, including a link to the license and an indication of whether changes were made.
  • ShareAlike: anyone who remixes, transforms, or builds upon the material must distribute their contributions under the same license as the original.
  • No additional restrictions: no one may apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

Rights retained by authors

Although copyright is held by JACE, authors retain the following rights:

  2. To reuse the published version of the work in their own future works, such as books, theses, lectures, or presentations, with acknowledgement of its first publication in JACE.
  3. To deposit the published version in institutional repositories, personal websites, or academic networks, with a full citation and a link to the article’s DOI.
  4. To post preprints before and during the submission process. This can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of the published work.
